Despite the less-than-optimal results obtained in recent years, the Guadalajara Chivas, also known as "The Sacred Flock," is still considered to be Mexico's most valuable team and the second most powerful team in the Americas, according to Forbes.
On their list of the 10 most powerful teams in the Americas, Forbes ranked Chivas as the most valuable Mexican sports club, with a value of $248.9 million, surpassed only by Corinthians of Brazil, with an estimated value of $584.7 million, reported sports newspaper La Afición.
The Mexican team managed by Jorge Vergara is currently in the lowest positions in the MX League, even barely managing not to be demoted several times this year, which leaves the team virtually out of the 2013 Apertura tournament, reported Univisión.
However, the terrible results did not prevent the club from bagging the honor of being the most valuable soccer franchise in Mexico.
