Microsoft has revealed two new Surface tablets ahead of its October release date and with pre-orders being accept as of Sept. 24.
The two Surface tablets are the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2, with the former serving as the successor of the Surface with Windows RT and latter as the new Surface with Windows 8 Pro.

The two new tablets do have major differences in the specifications category whilst maintain the same 10.6-inch ClearType Full HD screen with 1,920x1080 pixels.
The Surface 2 features the Windows RT 8.1 operating system with Microsoft Office 2013 RT versions of Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, and Word. The Surface Pro 2 has Windows 8.1 and has a one-month trial for new Microsoft Office 365 customers.
The Surface 2 is available in less internal storage models than the Surface Pro 2. The Surface 2 has 32GB and 64GB models while the Surface Pro 2 is available in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models, however the latter Surface Pro 2 GB model will have limited quantities.
The Surface Pro 2's CPU utilizes the fourth-generation Intel Core i5-4200U with 1.6 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost up to 2.6 GHz. The Surface 2 runs on the NVIDIA Tegra 4 with 1.7GHz quad-core processor.
The wireless connectivity for the two Surface tablets are the same with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
When it comes to camera specifications, the Surface 2 sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera while the front variant has 3.5 megapixels. The Surface Pro 2's front-and-rear-facing cameras have 720p HD specs.
The prices for the tablets are different. The Surface 2's 32GB model is priced at $449 and $549 for the 64GB variant. The Surface Pro 2's 64GB is priced at $899, $999 for 128GB, $1,299 for the 256GB, and $1,799 for the 512GB model, each with the Surface pen.
The new Surface tablets are available for pre-orders as of Sept. 24 and will see a release date of Oct. 22 in 22 markets including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States on Oct. 22. China will get to see the tablets by early November.
