What other similarities and differences do the Apple and Nokia smartphones have?
The Lumia 520 and iPhone 5c have the same screen size of 4 inches, but it is the Apple smartphone that has the better resolution with 1,136x640 to the Nokia device's 800x480 resolution.
The iPhone 5c has more and better memory options with a 16GB and 32GB model with 1GB of RAM. Unlike the iPhone 5c, the Lumia 520 is only available with a 8GB model with 512MB of RAM but has a microSD card slot for up to 64GB of storage.
The wireless connectivity for the iPhone 5c and Lumia 520 are similar with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, and USB version 2.0.
The camera specifications are better on the iPhone 5c than the Lumia 520. The iPhone 5c has a rear-facing camera with 8 megapixels and 3,264x2,448 pixels. The Lumia 520's rear-facing camera has 5 megapixels with 2,592x1,936 pixels. The Lumia 520 does not sport a front-facing camera, but the iPhone 5c has a 1.2-megapixel version.
For video recording, the rear-facing camera on the Apple device can record up to 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps) while the Lumia 520 records at 720p while maintaining the same fps. The iPhone 5c's front-facing camera records at 720p at 30fps.
The Lumia 520 comes installed with the Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system, although it is upgradeable to the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update. The iPhone 5c comes equipped with the newest Apple mobile platform, iOS 7, which launched worldwide for the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad mini, and the iPod touch 5G on Sept. 18.
Finally, the iPhone 5c has a slightly better battery capacity than the Lumia 520 with 1,510mAh to 1,430mAh. The battery capacity for the iPhone 5c gives the smartphone up to 250 hours on standby and 10 hours for talk time when under a 3G network. The Lumia 520 offers 360 hours on standby and 9.4 hours of talk time when using the Nokia device on a 3G network.
