Samsung might have made the first Google Nexus 10 tablet, but it looks like Google will be looking toward another manufacturer for this year's sequel. New screenshots lend credence to the rumor that ASUS will be churning out the Nexus 10s this year.
Twitter user @Rage06 posted a screenshot of U.K. retailer PC World's inventory system clearly showing a "Google ASUS Nexus 10" for the price of £349.99. Neither Google nor ASUS has confirmed an ASUS Nexus 10, so remember to take this leak with a grain of salt. Still, @Rage06 has leaked some accurate information in the past regarding the recently-released Nexus 7, so this may end up being true.
There has been much confusion as to who will be developing the Nexus 10 tablet thanks to some vague reporting. Wall Street Journal's Amir Efrati erroneously tweeted that Google's Sundar Pichai had informed him that a new Nexus 10 made by Samsung would be arriving shortly. After most major publications had picked up on the story, Efrati later issued a correction, stating that he should have said a new Nexus 10, which is currently made by Samsung, would be arriving shortly. The flip-flop has led many to take that as proof that Samsung will not be the Nexus 10's manufacturer. The reason behind the switch (if it is true) is still unknown.
ASUS is currently the manufacturer of the popular Nexus 7 tablet, which just released in an LTE-capable model. While there has been no date set in stone for the new Nexus 10 reveal, Google is rumored to be unveiling the Nexus 5 handset and Android 4.4 KitKat on Oct. 14, and could very well show off a new Nexus 10 then.
