Sales for Apple's iPhone 5s might be proving successful in China, or it could be a sign of the smartphone's limited supply.
As Latinos Post reported, Hong Kong residents can reserve the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c smartphones and pick it up on its release date of Sept. 20. The reservations, however, resulted in the iPhone 5s becoming "unavailable."
According to 9to5Mac, as of the afternoon of Sept. 17, the 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5s went "unavailable" for its black, "space gray" and gold models, regardless if the device was on-contract or unlocked.

The 16GB model, however, was only unavailable for its gold and "space gray" models. The black model for the 16GB iPhone 5s remains available.
The smartphone becoming unavailable could mean that there's low supply of the iPhone 5s in the country or strong demand.
The new Apple smartphone features the same specifications as the original iPhone 5, such as the 4-inch Retina Display with 1,136x640 resolution. The rear-facing camera maintains the same 8-megapixel camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels and front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. The video capabilities include 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps) for the rear-facing camera and 720p at 30fps for the front-facing camera.
The iPhone 5s' differences are largely the new iOS 7, fingerprint sensor and the A7 processor chip with 64-bit architecture, which plays a critical role with the Touch ID.
The iPhone 5s release dates in Hong Kong and Mainland China are set for Sept. 20. The release date also includes Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the United Kingdom and United States.
