Smartphone enthusiasts are awaiting the release of Apple's new iPhone 5c, but in the meantime, the reviews are flowing in.
As Latinos Post reported, the iPhone 5c's features include a 4-inch screen with 1,136x640 pixels. The iOS 7 smartphone will be available in 16GB and 32GB models. The iPhone 5c has a rear-facing camera with 8 megapixels at 3,264x2,448 pixels, and a front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. Similar to the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5c utilizes the A6 processor chip. The battery for the iPhone 5c allows up to 250 hours on standby and 10 hours of talk time under a 3G network.
Two notable changes include the addition of iOS 7 and new color options for the iPhone 5c. The new smartphone will be offered in blue, green, pink, white and yellow variants.

According to CNET, the iPhone 5c feels "solid and dense" when on one's hand yet feels heavier than the iPhone 5.
"In all, this is pretty much what we were expecting the iPhone 5C to be: a cheaper-to-produce version of the iPhone 5 that's been jazzed up with an all-new colorful and shiny look," added CNET. "Those colored backs should appeal to younger consumers, though it'll be interesting to see whether iPhone 5C owners choose to protect their phones with cases -- made by Apple or other accessory makers -- or leave them exposed."
For TechRadar's Gareth Beavis, the iPhone 5c feels different compared to the iPhone 5s, and with that noted, "[iPhone 5s] buyers won't feel like they're buying a rubbish version of that device."
Beavis, however, noted how the design might be something that will divide users, specifically its plastic casing, which has been a gripe for Samsung devices as well.
"It doesn't feel premium compared to the iPhone 5S at all, but while it does have an aspect of a 'toy' iPhone about it, the design, which is a single piece of plastic, does feel well-formulated," Beavis added.
The Guardian's Samuel Gibbs reported the iPhone 5c is a "new approach" for Apple but said that aspect was "debatable."
"The iPhone 5 was a fantastic smartphone last year, and is still one of the best around, but people buying the iPhone 5C expecting to get a next-generation smartphone will be disappointed," Gibbs stated. "The camera is improved, and LTE works across all U.K. networks, but for the whizzy features like fingerprint unlocking you have to look upward to the 5S."
"There's no hiding it, the iPhone 5C is an iPhone 5 in a new frock," wrote Trusted Reviews' Evan Kypreos. "But it's a pretty frock and the lively [colors] may well appeal to younger generations. Cheap it's certainly not, but it undoubtedly provides the iPhone experience at a lower price point."
Engadget's Brad Molen was impressed with the iPhone 5c's fingerprint technology, noting its "glossy finish," and add that the site was "quite happy to find that it's not the fingerprint magnet that we've come to expect on other devices. It sufficiently handled the greasy fingerprints of a couple hundred journalists, so we doubt you need to be concerned about this phone looking dirty when it's just you handling it. In fact, it has a subtle shine to it that serves to complement the vibrant colors."
The iPhone 5c is available for $99 when buying the 16GB model and signing a two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon Wireless. The 32GB model will cost the consumer an additional $100.
Apple is selling the iPhone 5c unlocked and contract-free with T-Mobile instead. With T-Mobile the 16GB model of the iPhone 5c is priced at $549, while the 32GB model is $649.
