T-Mobile customers will finally be able to pre-order the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone Wednesday, Sept. 18. The nation's fourth largest carrier will then officially release the phablet Oct. 2 in brick and mortar locations around the United States.
Interested parties can head over to the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3 webpage to discover that the phone can be bought for $199 down and subsequent monthly payments of $21 over the next two years through Simple Choice plans. The total cost of the phone comes to $704. A new SIM starter kit for the phone runs an additional $10.
T-Mobile will become the third U.S. wireless carrier to offer the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Verizon and AT&T already have their pre-order pages up, with Verizon's release date pegged for Oct. 10, and AT&T's for Oct. 1. Both networks are charging $300 for the Galaxy Note 3 with a two-year contract. Sprint has yet to announce any official dates, but does offer a sign-up page so that potential buyers will be notified as soon as more information becomes available.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was unveiled at the beginning of September at a Samsung Unpacked 2013 event and aims to continue Samsung's run of success in the smartphone market. The success of the first two iterations has set the bar high, but intial impressions of the Galaxy Note 3 are mostly positive. The handset features a 5.7-inch 1080p display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The rear-facing camera is capable of taking stills at 13 megapixels while the front-facing camera shoots at 1.9 megapixels. The Galaxy Note 3 also ships with an impressive 3,200mAh battery and a new version of the S-Pen electronic stylus, which is more integrated than ever before into the Galaxy Note 3's functionality. The phone also supports 4G LTE and ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box.
