Fans of the Mass Effect series are eager to find out what developer Bioware has up their sleeve for the next entry as the series. Many had assumed that after concluding the original trilogy of Mass Effect games the development team would take some time to focus on other projects, but now it appears as though Bioware is farther ahead of creating the newest Mass Effect game than most gamers would expect, as it appears as though the game (which may be Mass Effect 4 or a spinoff game) is being shown internally at Bioware, according to a series of Tweets.
Executive producer for Mass Effect Casey Hudson was the first to launch a Tweet about the upcoming game, praising the early build of the game and team behind it:
"In a milestone review for next Mass Effect game. Team is doing outstanding work. Looks beautiful, fun, ambitious, and Mass Effect-y!"
Jessica Merizan, the community manager for Bioware was the next person involved with the game to sing its praises on Twitter, who noted she was proud of the work the development team has produced so far:
"Watching absolutely stunning work from @masseffect team. Goosebumps. Such a passionate, talented group of devs! Can't wait to say more"
Finally, Yanick Roy, the studio director of BioWare's Montreal studio sent out two different tweets concerning the game, revealing that the game was shown to all of Bioware in its early form, but stated that t will be quite some time before the team at Bioware is ready to reveal the game to the public:
"Yesterday, the rest of BioWare finally got to get a first look at the next Mass Effect. Their reaction tells me we're on the right track...Sadly, it probably will still be a while before we show anything publicly. Sorry!"
While Bioware has not confirmed if the current Mass Effect game is indeed Mass Effect 4, it is still exciting to hear that the team is choosing to move forward with the series, presumably on next gen consoles. It will be interesting to see where the plot goes for this upcoming game, as Bioware could start a spinoff series featuring some of the characters from the original trilogy, or have a prequel take place before the events of the series. Another possibility is having the plot of the next game run parallel with the events of the original trilogy.
