With the introduction of the iPhone 5c by Apple, consumers have an alternative option when it comes to colorful smartphones other than the Nokia Lumia.

On the same day Apple launched the iPhone 5c, Nokia UK issued a tweet displaying a series of Lumia devices with the statement "Imitation is the best form of flattery."

With the iPhone 5c set to accept pre-orders on Sept. 13, Latinos Post has compared the specifications of the latest Apple device against Nokia's latest Lumia 1020.

The Lumia 1020 sports a larger screen size and resolution than the iPhone 5c with 4.5 inches and 1,280x768 resolution compared to 4 inches and 1,136x640 resolution on the Apple smartphone.

When it comes to memory, the iPhone 5c offers a 16GB and 32GB internal storage models while the Lumia 1020 dominantly sells the 32GB variant. A 64GB model of the Lumia 1020 is available, but only in a few markets worldwide.

The Lumia 1020 and iPhone 5c do not offer a microSD card slot for additional storage.

In regards to wireless connectivity, the Lumia 1020 and iPhone 5c are compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, and USB version 2.0. The Lumia 1020, however, can connect with NFC.

The camera specifications for both devices offer mixed results.

The Lumia 1020 has a 41-megapixel sensor for the rear-facing camera with 7,152x5,368 pixels, however, it is effectively 5 megapixels when sharing on social media and 36 megapixels for other purposes. The iPhone 5c offers 8 megapixels for its rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels.

The front-facing cameras for the iPhone 5c and Lumia 1020 have 1.2 megapixels.

The video recording specifications are the same on the Nokia and Apple devices with 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps), while the front-facing variants have 720p at 30fps.

The mobile operating system on the Lumia 1020 is the Windows Phone 8 by Microsoft. The iPhone 5c will come equipped with Apple's latest iOS 7 platform.

The Lumia 1020 utilizes the Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon dual-core 1.5GHz krait processor, while the iPhone 5c will run on the same A6 dual-core 1.3GHz chip seen on the iPhone 5.

When it comes to battery power, the iPhone 5c offers up to 250 hours on standby and 10 hours of talk time when under a 3G network, while the Lumia 1020 offers up to 13 hours and 20 minutes of talk time and 384 hours on standby.

Meanwhile, the prices for the iPhone 5c will start at $99 for the 16GB model and $199 for the 32GB model when signing a two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon Wireless. The Lumia 1020 is only available with a 32GB model for $199.99 with exclusive carrier AT&T. The Lumia 1020's price was recently reduced by $100 after AT&T launched the Windows Phone 8 smartphone at $299 in late July.

Finally, when it comes to color options, the iPhone 5c has the variety advantage. The iPhone 5c will be available in blue, green, pink, white and yellow. The Lumia 1020 is offered in black, white, yellow and a red variant by carrier AT&T.
