According to reports, the Lumia 1520 will sport a large screen size of 6-inches with 1080p resolution.

The Lumia 1520 has apparently received the codename "Bandit" by internal sources and could see a launch event on Sept. 26 in New York City.

If the Lumia 1520 had a screen size of 6-inches, the Nokia device would become the largest Windows Phone gadget to date. As Neowin noted, the Samsung Ativ S currently holds the title of largest Windows Phone display with 4.8-inches.

The Lumia 1520's alleged specifications include a rear-facing camera with 20 megapixels and Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.

According to a report from WPCentral in July, Nokia scheduled an event for either Sept. 26 or Sept. 27, although the initial speculation was a Nokia tablet would be introduced.

As Latinos Post reported, the Lumia 1520 is expected to launch with mobile carrier AT&T and later across more phone carriers by November.

NYC has served as the U.S. launching pad for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 Windows Phone 8 smartphones.

The Nokia event would be the first since Microsoft announced its $7.2 billion acquisition of the Finnish organization's mobile division.

As Latinos Post reported, the deal is projected to be approved by Nokia shareholders and a variety of countries by early 2014.

"It's a bold step into the future - a win-win for employees, shareholders and consumers of both companies," said Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer in a statement. "Bringing these great teams together will accelerate Microsoft's share and profits in phones, and strengthen the overall opportunities for both Microsoft and our partners across our entire family of devices and services."

With the acquisition, Nokia's President and current CEO Stephen Elop transitions to Executive Vice President of Devices and Services.
