Nokia Lumia 1020 Price Cut in AT&T: 41MP Windows Phone 8 Smartphone Price Starts at $199.99; AT&T Next Plan's Price Reduced [Video]

The Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone 8 smartphone has received a permanent price cut by $100.

As Latinos Post reported, select AT&T markets in the southern United States (U.S.) discounted the Lumia 1020 to $199, which is down from the original price tag of $299.99, in late August.

Although the discount was labeled as a limited-time promotion, it has been announced the $100 cut will be permanent and for all U.S. states.

The $199.99 price is valid for the black, white, and yellow models.

AT&T also reduced the Lumia 1020's price under the "AT&T Next" plan. The mobile carrier had originally priced the Windows Phone 8 smartphone for $33 with AT&T Next, but the price has been cut to $27 for the next 20 months.

The Lumia 1020 launched exclusively for AT&T on July 26 for $299.99. The camera phone can be purchased on AT&T's official website or at the Microsoft Store.

The price cut in the U.S. comes as the Lumia 1020 is set to debut in Australia on Sept. 17. As Latinos Post reported, Telstra will carry the Lumia 1020 with a suggested retail price of AUD $899. Fellow mobile carrier Optus will sell the smartphone as well starting Oct. 1.

The Lumia 1020's features include a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Windows Phone 8 device has 32GB of internal storage for 2GB of RAM. The device includes a front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels, and also packs a 2,000mAh battery.
