According to MSN, there are 10 foods and food ingredients sold in the U.S. which are banned in other countries.
1. Dairy Products with rBGH and rBST - increases IGF-1 hormone which is linked to breast, colorectal and prostate cancers; banned Australia, New Zealand, Israel, the European Union and Canada
2. BHA and BHT preservatives - BHA may trigger allergic reactions and hyperactivity while BHT is known to cause cancer in rats; banned in the UK (baby food) and parts of the European Union and Japan
3. Olestra or Olean in fat-free chips and fries - may cause adverse intestinal reactions like diarrhea, leaky bowels and cramps; banned in the UK and Canada
4. Breads with Potassium Bromate - linked to kidney damage and tumors, cancer and damage to the nervous system; banned in Canada, China and the European Union
5. Arsenic fed to chickens and arsenic-based drugs to counter poultry parasites - known carcinogen; banned in the European Union
6. Food Colors and Dyes - can cause allergy-like hypersensitivity reaction in children; banned in Norway and Austria,
