Google mobile operating system has increased its market share across France, Germany and Italy.

According to the latest figures by Kantar Worldpanel, Google's Android mobile platform maintained its first place position in the European countries with a comfortable lead.

Germany:

Android saw an increase in its market share figures by 3.4 percent when comparing the three months ending in July 2013 and the same period last year. Android's market share by the end of July this year was 76.8 percent.

Apple's iOS narrowly maintained its second-place finish with 11.2 percent. The latest iOS percentage is down 2.1 percent when comparing the three months ending last July to the same period in July 2012.

Microsoft's Windows Phone kept its third place position while increasing its market share by 2.6 percent. Windows Phone accounted for 8.8 percent by the end of July, up from 6.2 percent by July 2012.

Although its share was down 3.6 percent, Symbian garnered 1.4 percent, managing to uphold its fourth place standing. 

Finally, BlackBerry saw an increase of 0.2 percent, achieving a total of 0.8 percent by the end of July this year.

France:

Apple, Google, and Microsoft's respective operating systems saw an increase in their market shares in France.

Android saw a minor increase of 0.4 percent, which was enough to give the Google mobile platform a total of 62.5 percent for the three months ending in July 2013.

iOS placed second with 17.3 percent, which is an increase of 4.6 percent.

Windows Phone was the biggest winner among the mobile operating systems in France. Microsoft's mobile platform garnered 11 percent of the market share. Windows Phone's market share increased 7.4 percent in comparison to the three months ending in July 2012. The 11 percent market share also allowed Windows Phone to jump to third place.

BlackBerry slipped from third place to fourth as it lost 5.5 percent of its market share. BlackBerry went from 9.2 percent during the three months ending in July 2012 to 3.7 percent within the same period this year.

Symbian ranked fifth with 1.5 percent, losing 0.6 percent of the market share from last year.

Italy:

Android continued its success streak as the Google mobile operating system saw its market share increase by 12.8 percent in Italy. Android accounted for 71 percent by the end of July 2013.

Aside from Android, iOS is the other mobile platform to witness an increase in its market share. Apple's iOS placed second due to a 1.5 percent surge. iOS ultimately garnered 16.2 percent of the Italian market share, which is up from 14.8 percent from the three months ending in July 2012.

Similar to France, Windows Phone improved its rankings as it jumped from fourth to third place. Windows Phone, despite losing 0.5 percent of the market share, accounted for 7.8 percent.

BlackBerry also improved its rankings as it placed fourth place instead of fifth. BlackBerry lost 1.2 percent of the market share, but it maintained 2.8 percent by the end of July 2013.

Symbian suffered the heaviest market share percentage loss. Symbian lost 10.5 percent of the market share, which resulted in a fifth place finish at 1.8 percent.
