Battlefield 4 will be one of the biggest games of the year, and the first person shooter will be a smash hit on both current and next-gen consoles. Fans have been eager to find out more about the game, and DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson recently answered fan questions sent to the developer via IGNFor example, the creative director revealed that users unfamiliar with piloting jets and helicopters in the game will have a special test range to get a handle on the machines.

"We've definitely heard that people are afraid of getting in there [and using vehicles like helicopters] and that's not our intent, so what we've done is, we've added a test range, which allows you to try out all the hardware ahead of time so that if you want to learn to fly a helicopter you can get in there and you can find the settings that work best for you. And then start doing some stunt flights just to feel safe before you go out and get the responsibility of a bunch of other people sitting in your helicopter, so I truly hope that this will help people feel more safe about trying out the whole battlefield," said Gustavsson.

Another fan asked if Battlefield 4 would have split screen multiplayer, but Gustavsson revealed that DICE did not include the feature so that players will focus on the social aspect of multiplayer:

"No, not for Battlefield 4. What we're trying to do is really up the visceral experience, the dynamic experience, to give a more complete experience than ever on the battlefield. And with new friend join functionality and a lot of focus on playing together as a squad, and what we've done for squads, what we've done for commanders, we felt that's the social gaming focus that we've had."

Several fans asked about Dinosaur Mode, the rumored mode for Battlefield 4 that has become a joke among fans. Gustavsson said that he had heard the rumors and joked that the mode would have potential as part of the series:

"We definitely hear them and I like the thought of it too, so who knows. It definitely sounds extremely sexy and sounds like something that would fit the Battlefield universe very well."

DICE has something special in their hands with Battlefield 4, and gamers should look out for the current-gen version of the game on Oct. 29, as well as the next-gen version of the game that will be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
