Nokia Lumia 1020 Specs and Price: Nokia Partners with National Geographic Photographer for Lumia 1020 Camera Features Video

Nokia launched a new video for the Lumia 1020 Windows Phone 8 smartphone featuring a contribution from National Geographic's Stephen Alvarez.

Alvarez visited the Grand Canyon and filmed the journey with the Lumia 1020.

"The [Lumia] 1020 lets me be free," says Alvarez in the video. "I'm not constrained by the physical bulk of the DSLR and that feels great."

The National Geographic photographer noted how the Lumia 1020's small size and weight allowed him to take photos from "some pretty crazy positions."

Alvarez then took the Lumia 1020 for an aerial photography session. He added how he never used a smartphone for an aerial camera session, but he will experiment it with the 41-megapixel sensor Lumia 1020.

While overhead Canyonlands National Park in Moab, UT, Alvarez captured multiple pictures of various canyons.

"Even with vibration from the plane, the images were sharp and held all the details," describes Alvarez in the clip.

According to the photographer, the Lumia 1020's features "aststounds" him, and the results from the camera phone are "stunning."

"I have used a lot of camera phones so when I set out on this assignment I had my doubts, my doubts are gone - nothing else compares."

The Lumia 1020's features include a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Windows Phone 8 device has 32GB of internal storage for 2GB of RAM. The device includes a front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels, and also packs a 2,000mAh battery.

As Latinos Post reported, the Lumia 1020 is priced at $299 from AT&T's official website. However, Amazon.com is also offering the Lumia 1020 at a lower cost than AT&T's official price. Amazon's starting price for the Lumia 1020 stands at $249.99 when signing a two-year contract with AT&T, and the offer is valid for the black, white, and yellow models.
