We all know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is very likely to be unveiled at Samsung's "Unpacked 2013: Episode 2" event in Berlin on Sept. 4. We also can be pretty sure that the Galaxy Gear, Samsung's new smartwatch, will be appearing alongside the Galaxy Note 3 at the event.
But here's some great news for people who actually want to get their hands on the device - according to SamMobile's anonymous (but usually correct) sources, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will begin shipping within the same month that it is unveiled, with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch following close behind and hitting the markets in October.
"Our source mentions week 36 as the likely time when the Note III will begin shipping, while the smartwatch will be shipped around week 40, though a delay of a week or two may happen, depending on the region," reports the Samsung-watching tech site. A small delay depending on the region sounds like no big deal if both highly anticipated devices are going to ship out literally within a few weeks of their unveilings.
The site also confirmed that Samsung is going to start at 32GB of internal storage, instead of 16GB, meaning the baseline price of the new Galaxy Note 3 may be a little higher, but if you're going to buy a flagship phablet, you might as well have enough storage.
The Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to have a 5.68-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080p resolution. It will likely be powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Exynos 5420 chip with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Other rumored specs for the device include a 13-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization and a 3,200 mAh battery. Along with the baseline storage option of 32GB, there's likely to be a 64GB version, and of course there's a microSD card slot for an additional 64GB.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which may ship just a few weeks later in October, is rumored to be capable of making phone calls, surfing the Internet and checking emails. Sept. 4 will be exciting, as we'll finally get more specific details about the Galaxy Gear.
