Less than 24 hours after Latinos Post reported on the launch of the new YouTube app for Windows Phone 8 users, complaints surfaced about the service's connection.

According to posts on Reddit, the YouTube app failed to connect despite restarting mobile devices.

In a thread titled "Did Google just kill Microsoft's YouTube app?," Windows Phone users shared their experiences with the new video-sharing app.

"It was working an hour ago, but now, every time I open it (even after restarting my phone), I get an in-app notification saying 'The YouTube service isn't available.' Anyone else having this problem?" wrote rytril.

Spinmoon wrote, "Can't use the app, I can login with my Google account but nothing appears, no subscriptions, no videos, nothing except the error message: 'Something Happened and we are not sure what!' First time user here, on 7.8 / L710."

Windows Phone users from around the world shared similar accounts, and it appeared the problem was a "revoked developer key" within the YouTube app.

As WPCentral noted the key as:

X-GData-Key: key=AI39si5YN5ADODc3kFpbnuzyiD8JgZoo6Ni2CEbEu2P_
lgdk85DMMp9kOXlDNrTXNd33q2gCN21-GHgZeyJ-7UWwIcYE7EAQxg

It was determined that the problem was either Google's fault, the parent company of YouTube, or Microsoft's, the owner of the Windows Phone mobile operating system.

WPCentral suggested Microsoft forgot to update the key when the YouTube app was updated or that Google revoked it.

"Google revoking it is a plausible explanation should Microsoft not have received permission to publish the app within those API guidelines," wrote WPCentral's Daniel Rubino.

As Latinos Post reported, Microsoft launched the updated YouTube app earlier this week following a public disagreement with Google in May.
