The ongoing patent infringement trials have apparently not disrupted business deals between Apple and Samsung.

According to a new report, Samsung shipped more display panels for Apple's iPad 4 than LG Display for the months of April and June. CNET noted that Apple has increased orders to Samsung to produce more display panels since the first quarter of this year.

NPD DisplaySearch stated that Apple received approximately 2.3 million units from Samsung solely from the first quarter. The figures have reportedly jumped by 80 percent to more than 4.1 million units during the recent second quarter.

NPD DisplaySearch added that the South Korean-based organization will help supply panels for the 7.9-inch iPad for the second half of 2013.

It is unclear if the display panels for the second half of 2013 are for the current series of the iPad mini or for the speculated iPad mini 2. NPD DisplaySearch stated LG Display is currently the top supplier for the iPad mini.

As Latinos Post reported, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo projected the iPad mini 2 will get a March or April 2014 release date. Kuo added that the iPad 5, however, may debut in early September. The analyst added that the iPad 5 will be the only Apple tablet released during 2013. Kuo also dismissed reports about a second non-Retina Display iPad mini launch rumored for late 2013.

Meanwhile, DigiTimes, citing "industry sources," stated LG Display is producing panels for the iPad mini 2. LG Display is allegedly "making new headway" in Retina Display production for the 7.9-inch tablet. The sources familiar with LG Display stated that 2 to 3 million units panels will be shipped ahead of its October release date.
