New details have emerged about the latest game in the Dragon Age series, Dragon Age: Inquisition. Game Informer is covering the game in the September issue of the magazine, and Bioware has confirmed that several aspects left out of the second game in the series will be making a return for the third installment, including the ability to choose what race the player's character will be in the game.

Bioware has listened to the feedback from fans concerning the problems they encountered in the first two games, and has decided to bring back the ability to choose the origin of the playable character. While in Dragon Age: Origins players were able to choose what magical race they could be, Dragon Age 2 had players fall into the role of a human named Hawke throughout the game. Clearly, this step down in customization was not well received, and now players can once again craft their own character in whatever way they see fit.

Bioware also revealed that mounts will appear for the first time in the series, and that customizable armor will be making a return.

"Large and varied environments, customisable armor, and the return of multiple player races are just a few of the ways BioWare is addressing feedback from previous titles in order to shape a new future for the franchise," said Bioware, Game Informer reported.

Some light has also been shed on the game's plot, as well as the significance of its subtitle. After creating a character in the game, the player will be thrust into a very chaotic world as a member of the Inquisition that is trying to bring order to various parts of the world.

"As the game begins, the Inquisition has plenty to investigate. War, scheming, and political strife have left the major power groups in the Dragon Age universe unable to operate effectively, which is a problem when a hole opens in the sky and demons begin pouring out. Players must fight back against the demonic threat while exploring a vast world and consolidating power for the growing Inquisition," explained Bioware.

It will be interesting to see what other changes are coming to the Dragon Age series with the third game of the series. Dragon Age: Inquisition will be the first foray into the next-gen consoles for the series, with the game first appearing on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Mac. The game has been delayed repeatedly, with the title heading towards a 2014 release date.
