Tim Tebow was reportedly spotted lining up with receivers during a training camp drill by the New England Patriots at their training facility in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Friday.
Tebow, who has been battling to prove he can excel as a quarterback since jumping to the NFL, was seen by NFL reporter Albert Breer performing drills usually reserved for wide receivers and tight ends.
Since he joined the Patriots, there are speculations about Tebow shifting to tight end as one of the targets of starting quarterback Tom Brady in a pass-heavy offense by Bill Belichick.
However, Belichick stressed that the Pats have no plans in turning Tebow into a tight end, adding the former Heisman Trophy winner will stay as a back-up quarterback for Brady.
But with Ryan Mallett poised to be the primary back-up signal-caller to Brady next season, Tebow will be facing the same situation he had with the New York Jets with limited snaps on the field.
In a recent report by Boston.com's Zuri Berry, the writer also elaborated the struggles Tebow has been dealing as a quarterback in training.
"He finished the day going 6 for 10 with two interceptions in 11-on-11 drills. He was picked off by safety Nate Ebner and defensive end Chandler Jones," Berry stated in his report.
Still, nothing is clear about Pats' plan on Tebow, who reportedly returned to work as a quarterback right after catching three or four passes from Mallet. Yet again, as unpredictable as Tebow's situation is right now, only time will tell what the role of NFL's arguably most popular player will be next season.
