PES 14 Vs. FIFA 14 Release Date News: Set For September 24, Same as FIFA 14 [Video]

Pro Evolution Soccer 14, the video game made by Konami and powered by Kojima Production's Fox Engine, has made a bold move.

The game is coming out on Sept. 24—the same day as its biggest competitor, FIFA 14, is scheduled to be released, IGN reported.

Pro Evolution Soccer 14, much like FIFA 14, has implemented a variety of new improvements to the game to improve realism. These include TrueBall Tech, which is similar to the Real Ball Physics feature of FIFA 14. Motion Animation Stability System will be added to Pro Evolution Soccer, which again is similar to the increased attention to character movement and animations, especially those found on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Other features include Heart, PES ID, Team Play and Core. This six gameplay changes will make the game the most realistic entry into the series, with home teams getting advantages reflecting the friendly crowd, better coordination between A.I. teammates, and a revamped ID system.

While FIFA 14 was originally slated for a Sept. 29 release date, the game's official website has the game coming out on Sept. 24, with PlayStation 3 owners getting an exclusive early release window beginning on Sept. 20. However, the release date is only for the current gen versions of FIFA 14. The game is also slated to be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, whenever those two consoles are made available to the public.

Pro Evolution Soccer is not scheduled to come out on these next gen systems, so the game may face a disadvantage when compared to the next-gen videos that EA frequently showcases for FIFA 14. However, there is no reason to believe Konami's soccer simulator cannot compete with the current-gen versions of FIFA 14, especially considering that the games have very similar features.

In addition to the news about the game's release date, Konami also announced on their website that the Pro Evolution Soccer World Finals will be held from Sept. 26 to 28 in Dubai. The tournament will have 15,000 euros in total prize money, with the winner getting the lion's share of the pot with 10,000 euros going to first place.
