The next-gen Nexus 7 tablet from Google is slated to be revealed Wednesday, July 24 at an event in San Francisco, but it seems the tablet has already hit the Internet showing off the device's full form in all its glory ahead of the official unveiling.
Best Buy has already started taking pre-orders for the new Nexus 7, which starts off at $229 for the 16GB model. Those who want more internal storage space can pick up a 32GB variant for $269. Best Buy currently lists only the Wi-Fi models of the Nexus 7, however, a 4G LTE version is said to release as well. It's unclear at what time, and we'll simply have to wait for more details from Google regarding the matter. There's no ship date listed, however a leaked Sunday ad for the retailer shows that Best Buy will have the tablet for sale in stores July 30.
Interested parties can visit Android Police for a nice gallery of the new Nexus 7 from all sorts of angles. It turns out that the tablet has a rubbery finish much like the Nexus 10, which "is great for usability, but might not look that good after prolonged usage," according to Android Authority.
The Nexus 7 is significantly more powerful than its predecessor, featuring a 7-inch display with a 1920X1200 resolution, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, and 4GB DDR3 RAM. The tablet will also come equipped with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera — something the original did not have — and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
