The disclaimer notice continued, "The following performance was captured using two Nokia Lumia 1020 prototypes and two competitor devices. Audio was recorded from center position during the same sequence. Playback levels between the recordings have been normalized for a comparable listening experience."
Nokia further noted the video was edited with Adobe Premiere CS6 with no adjustments made in colors or picture quality.
Each of the devices were given roughly eight seconds of playtime. The comparison starts with a DJ playing the song "Tw3nty" by Orkidea as the first device tested appears and labeled as "Competitor S." The second smartphone to have its audio and video compared was "Competitor A." Finally, the third device was the Lumia 1020.
It may be a no-brainer to figure out the devices known as "Competitor A" and "Competitor S," as it likely represented Apple and Samsung's latest smartphones.
The video concluded with the statement, "Never forget the feeling of your favorite gig with Nokia Rich Recording technology."
According to Nokia's Whitepaper on the Lumia 1020, "Nokia Rich Recording technology comprises two specially designed digital microphones with an extended dynamic range to handle high sound pressure levels. 32-bit arithmetics preserve the dynamic range in digital signal conditioning as well as acoustics design optimized for stereo image and full audio bandwidth."
