Gearbox, the developer that keeps on giving, has announced Borderlands 2 is getting even more DLC, despite the game's season pass content already being delivered in full. The news emerged during PAX Australia, and the DLC will include a wide variety of new missions for players to complete, as well as an increase in the game's level cap, according to IGN.

The DLC is called the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge, and will be available sometime before Halloween. The DLC's premise is that anti-social scientist Patricia Tannis reveals a new area of Pandora for players to explore, which is full of high level enemies that can "over level" and create so-called impossible challenges. By defeating these enemies, players will gain access to rare loot. This DLC will be offered for the price of $5.

Gearbox is also releasing multiple Headhunter DLC packs for the game, in which players gain access to new boss fights and missions. The first Headhunter DLC announced is called T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest, and brings back one of the main characters from the first Borderlands, the crazed T.K Baha. He sends players to fight a boss called Jaques O'Lantern. T.K Baha was last seen as a zombie as part of the original Borderlands DLC, so it will be interesting to see how he is reintroduced, and if we see a return to the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. The reward for beating this new boss will be special character customizations for the player. Gearbox has promised additional Headhunter missions for Borderlands 2, but did not give a specific number for how many are planned. Release dates and prices were not disclosed either.

Finally, Gearbox has promised a bit of free DLC for the game. This DLC will offer players extra backpack, ammo, and bank slots for players, which will come in handy considering all the loot that is being promised with this new DLC.

While some fans were hoping for more of a sequel hook with this new DLC, this DLC is a great way to engage fans of the game that have stuck with the game since launch and are eager to try out new high level missions in the game. Look out for more Borderlands 2 DLC news as these DLC packs get release dates and start rolling out for the game.
