A new version of an old classic that has old-school gamers awaiting with bated breath to play now has a official release date. Ducktales: Remastered, the remake of the NES platformer that is fondly remembered as one of the best third-party games for the system, will be available on August 13 for most of the consoles that will supporting the game, with one console's user base having to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the game.

The PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC version of the game will be all available for download on August 13, according to IGN. The Xbox 360 version of the game will be delayed for unknown reasons for almost a month, and will not be available on that console until September 11. The game will cost $14.99 across all systems, and will be available as a digital download. PlayStation 3 owners can also buy a physical copy of the game, but it will cost a bit more at $19.99, with no add-ons or bonuses included with the physical release.

Ducktales: Remastered was announced during PAX East back in March, and was a big hit with the crowd when Capcom revealed that they were bringing the game into the new millennium. The original game was launched in 1989, and was based on the popular Ducktales cartoon that first premiered in 1987. The series follows the adventures of the wealthy miser Scrooge McDuck and his three nephews Huey, Duey, and Louie. The series also boasts one of the most memorable cartoon themes songs of all time.

If Capcom is able to recapture the magic that the original NES game had, then they may have a big hit on their games when the game is released this summer. After all, not many games that are nearly 25 years old get people talking, but Ducktales: Remastered has managed to get people buzzing.
