The third installment of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" DLC, "Vengeance", was released on July 2 on the Xbox 360, and now Activision has announced to Gamespot that PlayStation 3 and PC owners will be able to download the map pack on Aug. 2, continuing the exclusively-timed DLC deal the series has with Microsoft.
The DLC consists of four brand-new maps for "Black Ops 2," along with a new zombie mode map called "Buried." The four brand new maps for the game are called "Cove," "Rush," "Detour," and "Uplink." Cove takes place in a "Lost"-inspired tropical setting. Rush brings players to an indoor and outdoor paintball arena. Detour involves players fighting it out on an abandoned bridge. Finally, Uplink is a reimagining of the map Summit from the original Black Ops, with a rainy jungle replacing the snowy terrain.
"Buried" transport players to an Old West town that has been trapped underground and players will have to fight off zombified cowboys while raiding bank vaults and tempting a giant mutant to fight on their side. A new weapon, the Ray Gun Mark 2, also comes with the DLC for use on all zombie mode maps.
Vengeance is the third of the four planned DLC packs for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2." The first DLC pack, "Uprising," was released in January. The second DLC pack was entitled "Revolution," and was released back in April. It is unclear when the fourth map pack will be released, but it will most likely appear before "Call of Duty: Ghosts" hits the shelves on Nov. 5. The season pass for "Black Ops 2" costs $50, and each individual DLC pack is available for $15, if players only want one or two of the DLC packages.
Look out for more "Black Ops 2" news as the release date for "Vengeance" for the PlayStation 3 and PC gets closer.
