Google's Android faced no competition in the mobile operating system market share in Spain for the three months ending in May 2013.
According to Kantar Worldpanel, Android easily continued its streak as the top mobile platform in the country with 92.5 percent. Android's first place position is an increase of 8.1 percent from the three months ending in May 2012, when the mobile operating system garnered 84.4 percent.
Apple failed to reach double-digit territory, but did see a minor increase in comparison to the same period in 2012. The iOS platform finished May 2013 with 4.2 percent, an increase of 0.7 percent from May 2012's 3.5 percent.

Microsoft's Windows Phone increased its share for a third place finish after placing fifth in May 2012. Windows Phone increased by 0.2 percent from last year, enough to finish with 1.9 percent in May 2013.
During the same time period, BlackBerry's numbers plunged. Previously the third placeholder with 7 percent, BlackBerry fell by 6.9 percent for a fifth place position with 0.1 percent.
Symbian maintained its fourth-place position despite a 2 percent drop from the same period last year. Symbian finished the three months ending in May 2013 with 0.9 percent.
Spain's operating system market share numbers contrast U.S. figures. According to Kantar, while Android still led in the U.S. with 52 percent, Apple fared better than in Spain with 41.9 percent.
