Fans of Borderlands 2 will continue to have excuses to explore Pandora, as the president and CEO of Gearbox Randy Pitchford has confirmed that more DLC for the game is being made, despite the season pass content for the game being delivered in full. While on the Nerdist podcast (via MP1st), Pitchford revealed that Gearbox is working on multiple DLC packs for the game, including a new campaign DLC:

"We did a season pass for Borderlands 2, and the season pass was like, 'hey, if you buy the season pass, we would be doing four campaign add-ons and you can buy all four of them for the price of three, if you buy upfront'. So everyone was under the expectations that those would be the four DLCs and that's it. We are going to do more; we are going to do some other things. I don't have details exactly of it yet, 'cause we're not ready to announce what the other things are, but when the next campaign DLC comes, Assault On Dragon Keep [won't be] the end of it...We've got more stuff in the hopper that we're planning and getting pretty excited about. So if you're a Borderlands 2 fan, you don't have to be afraid that that's the end of it."

This is great news for Borderlands 2 fans, as they will now be able to continue the story of the game, and maybe set up a next-gen sequel for the franchise. However, Gearbox is working on a new IP for next-gen consoles, so it may be awhile before Borderlands 3 comes to gamers. If that is indeed the case, then Gearbox may be intent on giving fans of its top franchise as much content as possible to keep them interested as the company gets ready to start a new IP and a new chapter in the developer's life.
