Ahead of the release of "Pokémon X and Y," The Pokémon Company has issued a statement in regards to using cheats onto its games.
In a statement originally issued in Japanese, and translated by Alex Aniel via Vooks.net, The Pokémon Company addressed Pokémon-related smartphone applications that have the capability to alter game data and result in hacking Pokémon into the software.

"Currently, there are Pokémon-related smartphone applications on sale that have not been approved by either Nintendo or The Pokémon Company," stated The Pokémon Company. "These unauthorized applications have the capability to create unauthorized game data, utilize unofficial servers, and send hacked Pokémon into game software."
Although the statement applies for the smartphone apps, one may assume The Pokémon Company would apply the same standard to its Nintendo games.
The Pokémon Company continued, "Please understand that if any glitches or other inconveniences arise due to non-normal use, including the use of unofficial game data, neither Nintendo nor The Pokémon Company will be able to restore the game data to its original condition."
"We kindly ask that players ensure that they enjoy games in the Pokémon series in accordance with the proper guidelines as written in the instruction manual in order to protect their favorite Pokémon and save data."
"Pokémon X and Y" is set to launch worldwide on Oct. 12 for the Nintendo 3DS. The games will introduce new features such as the Player Search System (PSS), which allows users of either "X" and "Y" to connect, battle, and trade with players across the globe.
