Apple's iPhone 5 may have had better launch sales figures compared to Samsung's Galaxy S4, says an analyst comparing quarterly earning data.
ISI Group's Brian Marshall has looked into Apple's opening weekend numbers and quarterly earnings reports for the iPhone 5 and has estimated the smartphone sold 20 million units in approximately 25 days.

According to Marshall's numbers, the iPhone 5 may have outsold the Galaxy S4's accomplishment of selling 20 million units at a quicker rate, which was claimed in late June.
Marshall's data shows Apple shipped roughly 805,000 units of the iPhone 5 per day in it first 25 days following its Sept. 21 retail debut. In comparison to Samsung's latest smartphone, the Galaxy S4 shipped 333,000 units per day.
As Latinos Post reported, Samsung sold six million units during its first weekend but rose to 10 million units by the end of May. Apple, meanwhile, sold five million units during its first weekend.
"While we have sold out of our initial supply, stores continue to receive iPhone 5 shipments regularly and customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement last September.
The Galaxy S4's price is near or the same as the iPhone 5 when it launched last year. Sprint, T-Mobile has the Galaxy S4 at $149.99 while AT&T and Verizon Wireless has the Samsung smartphone at $199.99, the same as the iPhone 5. The Galaxy S4 is available across more carriers than the iPhone 5 was at the time of its launch.
