Spain's David Ferrer is expected to leapfrog tennis greats Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal when the latest ATP Tour world ranking is released on Monday.
Ferrer, who reached the quarterfinal of the Wimbledon Open, will move up to a career-high no.3 in the world rankings, just behind Wimbledon Open champion Andy Murray and top-ranked Serb Novak Djokovic.
The 31-year-old star has been a consistent figure in Grand Slam quarterfinals over the last two years and has already made his first major finals appearance at the 2013 French Open Championships, before losing to eventual winner Rafael Nadal.
Nadal, on the other hand, will move to fourth in the ranking, despite a shocking first round exit at the hands of Steve Darcis on the opening day of Wimbledon competition. Federer will also drop to no.5 for the first time in over a decade after his second-round loss to Sergiy Stakhovsky.
Meanwhile, Wimbledon Open men's singles champion Andy Murray will reportedly donate £1.6 million in prize money to Cancer Research in the United Kingdom.
According to reports swirling over several social networking sites, the Briton will donate all his winnings for charity as a token of appreciation for their support throughout the tourney.
Murray ends Great Britain's 77-year wait for a homegrown Wimbledon Champion on Sunday following his masterful straight set win over Djokovic, 6-4, 7-5, 6-4, on Center Court.
