Sony has officially confirmed that every PlayStation 4 console will come bundled with a copy of "The Playroom." The Playroom is an augmented reality game/sandbox that allows players to engage in mini-games with a bunch of tiny robots.

The game was originally unveiled during Sony's E3 2013 press conference. Many have been comparing it to Nintendo's Wii Sports, as it seems to serve as a fun little showcase of the PlayStation 4's functionality. The Playroom will integrate the DualShock 4's new features, such as the light bar, dual motors, speaker, and touchpad, with the PlayStation 4's camera (which you will need to purchase separately).

The Playroom is also compatible with the PlayStation Vita, smartphones, and tablets.

The app can be played in a sandbox style setting, or through augmented reality mini-games such as Air Hockey. You can watch a demo of the software below; it looks like some pretty fun stuff.

Unfortunately, while The Playroom will be free, Sony's PlayStation 4 camera is not. Sony very discretely unbundled the camera from the console sometime in the past few months, with reports indicating it was done to beat Microsoft's price. The Sony PlayStation 4 will launch at $399 compared to the Xbox One's $499 price tag.

The PlayStation 4 will launch sometime later this year. Microsoft's Xbox One has been confirmed for a November release window.
