Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players got the third DLC map pack for the game earlier this week, and fans of the tactical shooter have been testing out the new maps and the new zombie mode map that were part of the DLC. But how do these new additions stack up compared to the rest of the DLC for the game?

The DLC contains four regular maps. These are Detour, Cove, Uplink, and Rush. Detour takes place on a ruined bridge, and offers a fairly linear area for teams to try and take each other out as players hide behind abandoned cars. Cove has a fairly unique setting for the series, choosing to place players in a tropical island that may or may not be the island from the show Lost (there is a crash plane and luggage all over the beach). Rush is a paintball course that replaces paint with bullets, and has both an indoors and outdoors area to battle in. And, as usual, an older map has been remade for a newer Call of Duty game, and in this case it is Uplink. Uplink is a remake of the original Black Ops' Summit, only with a rainy jungle mountain replacing the snowy environment in that game.

The new zombies map is called Buried, and takes place in a mining town from the Old West that has since become buried. The game features the original four characters from zombies mode, instead of a new set of characters based on actors who made their names in western movies. The map offers a few unique areas to explore, and has a giant mutant named Max that players can tempt into joining them as they fight zombies. A new zombie's weapon that comes with the DLC, the Ray Gun Mark II, is available for all zombie mode maps as well.

Xbox 360 owners have a month to use the map before their PlayStation 3 and PC brethren get their hands on the DLC, so they should take advantage of this time to explore the solid new content on offer.
