While most Samsung Galaxy S3 owners around the world are waiting for their update to Android 4.2.2, it seems those on C-Spire's network are finally receiving their first taste of the Android 4.1.2 Premium Suite upgrade released months ago on other networks.
C-Spire pushed out Android 4.1.2 Premium Suite July 3 over the air (OTA), and Galaxy S3s on the network can expect to receive anytime now. As with all OTA updates, some users will get it before others. Eager Galaxy S3 owners can always download the firmware via Samsung's KIES software.
Premium Suite has already been pushed out to Galaxy S3s on most carriers, and its arrival on C-Spire should be welcomed by users. Premium Suite includes a number of new features, including smart photo tagging, an enhanced S-Beam, and, of course, Multi-Window.
Multi-Window runs exactly how it sounds: it allows multiple windows (apps) to run on screen, simultaneously, side by side. While it's only limited to a certain few apps, it's definitely a bonus to browse email and have a YouTube video playing up top at the same time.
In other Galaxy S3 news, there's still no word on when the handset will get its bump up to Android 4.2.2. The upgrade, expected last month, is now rumored to release sometime between August and November due to technical and potential sales issues with the Galaxy S4.
