Rumors about the possible release date of the next iPhone continue to surface these past few days. Although there are still no concrete details as of now, there is a huge possibility that we will see two new iPhones this year.
According to the International Business Times, Apple is planning to release the iPhone 5s in early to mid-September, followed by the iPhone 6 one or two weeks after the release of the iPhone 5 successor. Aside from the two new iPhones, the iWatch will allegedly also hit the market this October.
The release of the next iPhone will coincide with the official launching of the iOS 7 on September 18. IBT concluded that Apple will likely follow similar trend with regards to launching a new iOS version.
We don't think Tim Cook wants to mess with the successful Apple formula left behind by Steve Jobs, so we believe Apple will again follow this iOS release timetable by launching iOS 7 exactly 100 days after its introduction, on September 18th.
Two days after the official launching of the iOS 7, the iPhone 5s will reportedly hit the market on September 20 to be followed by the release of the iPhone 6 either on September 27 or October 4. IBT also reported that the iPhone 5s will look identical to the iPhone 5 with minor hardware and design improvements.
By all accounts, the iPhone 5S will look identical its predecessor the iPhone 5, with the exception of a few cosmetic changes. Apple has reportedly adopted dual-LED flash for its rear-facing camera, which means that circular flash is now pill-shaped, and many believe the iPhone 5S camera has been improved from the 8-megapixels in the iPhone 5, likely to 12-megapixels.
On the other hand, the iPhone 6 will reportedly be the highly-anticipated low-cost edition of the popular smartphone. It will allegedly have the important features of an iPhone at much lower price. Rumors also suggest that the iPhone 6 cases will be made from plastic and it will be released in different colors like the 5th gen iPod Touch.
The IBT also added that Apple will hold a special event in October wherein California-based company is expected to unveil the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 and possibly the long-rumored Apple iWatch.
