Boxing Trainer Naazim Richardson believes former lightweight champion Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios is not a worthy opponent for Manny Pacquiao and it won't be a shock if he sees the Filipino champ knocking out the former lightweight champion on November 23 at Venetian Macau in China.
Richardson, the former trainer of Sugar Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins, said Pacquiao should have not picked Rios as his opponent mainly because the fight is not impressive at all.
The trainer believes Rios' unanimous decision loss to Mike Alvarado earlier this year is proof that the boxer is not even close to Pacquiao's level.
"Pacquiao beating Rios after Mike Alvarado has beaten Brandon Rios, it would impress you?" Richardson told on the Ropes Boxing Radio.
"Now I'm not disrespecting Mike Alvarado, but on the scale of where we level the greatness in champions, not too many people are gonna mark Mike Alvarado as a great, and he's already beaten Brandon Rios."
Richardson added that Pacquiao has done so much in the boxing ring despite his sixth round knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez. He believes retirement is the only option now for Pacquiao, who also served as a representative for the lone district of Saranggani.
"Is Manny Pacquiao gonna do something that's gonna make you say, 'Wow, that's more exciting than when he beat Cotto, that's more exciting than when he beat Ricky Hatton.' What? Will he win another title? The only thing he hasn't done is get disqualified in boxing," Richardson added.
