There have been many rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 3 variants thrown around: flexible display, aluminum body, you name it. The latest alleged model will apparently have an LCD screen.

According to Korean news outlet ETNews, Samsung is pursuing the option of releasing the Galaxy Note 3 in two versions this fall: one with an AMOLED display and one with an LCD. The reason for this is that there is apparently a shortage of OLED screens around. Samsung is choosing between LCD manufacturers, and is purportedly leaning towards Sharp.

What size the display will be is still up in the air, as Samsung has not confirmed any details about the Galaxy Note 3. Rumors initially had the Galaxy Note 3's screen over 6 inches, then at 6 inches, and the latest bit of gossip says 5.7 inches. We'll simply have to wait until the expected reveal this fall, around the IFA electronics trade show in Berlin. IFA 2013 kicks off Sept. 6 and a recent report indicated mass production of the Galaxy Note 3 could begin in August.

Other rumored specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 include either an Exynos 5 Octa eight-core chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 clocked in at over 2GHz, 3GB RAM, a 13-megapixel reaf-facing camera with some nifty features, and the latest versions of Android and the S Pen electronic stylus.
