Many games these days launch with one or more DLC additions immediately available. That wasn't the case BioShock Infinite though, and for those who had purchased a Season Pass, it's been a long, long wait to see what that would have in store.
At least three pieces of story-driven DLC have been promised to Season Pass holders, but in the three months since the game's release, absolutely nothing official has been revealed about them.
The game's creator Ken Levine has responded to this delay on Twitter, reaffirming that the DLC is in fact in development.
DLC Update: We are working on it- have been since the game shipped. Things are going well, but plz understand: game development takes time.

In the meantime, a bundle of previously exclusive content called "Columbia's Finest" has been released via Steam. It includes the pre-order rewards from the Industrial Revolution Pack, as well as the Upgrade Pack from BioShock's Songbird Edition. All in all it grants players 500 Silver Eagles, five bonus lock picks, and six new pieces of gear. It is currently priced at $4.99.
For those who don't care about new gear though, and are instead eagerly awaiting new story content, we're probably in for a wait. As Levine points out, the Irrational Games team didn't begin work on the DLC until after BioShock Infinite was released, an increasingly uncommon practice that gamers should actively support. In essence, it means that nothing from the main game was stripped out to use as potential DLC, and that everything we'll be getting from here on out is completely original.
BioShock Infinite was originally released on March 26, 2013 to widespread critical acclaim. In the US, it was also the top-selling console game in March with more than 878,000 units sold, and was the best selling game on Steam's digital Top 10 chart in its first week. In its third week, it became the first game of 2013 to top the UK all formats charts for three weeks in a row. Although final sale statistics have not been released, it was reported that by May, 3.7 million copies of the game had been sold.
Alongside the recently released The Last of Us, BioShock Infinite is considered by many to be an early front-runner for many 2013 GOTY awards.
