While some reports have varied wildly about when the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will release, more and more signs are pointing to an August/September reveal. The latest rumor states that mass production of the highly-anticipated tablet will begin in August.
As Korean IT news outlet ETNews puts it, "An insider at Wireless Business Division at Samsung Electronics commented the company 'had reduced the order to each suppliers at the similar rates. Since we will start placing orders for follow-up models, such as Galaxy Note III, from August, the impact to suppliers will be minimal.'"
If the report is indeed true (Samsung has not confirmed the report), then it only lends credence to the unverified, yet popular belief that Samsung will show off the new phablet around the IFA electronics trade show that takes off Sept. 6. Samsung utilized last year's IFA conference to debut the popular Galaxy Note 2. Mass production in August would fall right in line, as it would give Samsung a month or two to build up supply inventories for the fall holiday shopping season.
A fall Galaxy Note 3 release also puts Samsung in a good position to deal with rival Apple's inevitable fall lineup. The Cupertino giant is expected to unleash a new flurry of iPhones and iPads later this year, and a high-profile launch like the Galaxy Note 3 would give Samsung fresh momentum heading the year's most prolific consumer spending period.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to ship with a 5.7-inch or 6-inch 1080p display, either a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa eight-core chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 3GB Ram, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and the latest versions of Android and the S Pen electronic stylus.
