The hostilities at All England tennis club are about to get started on Monday as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova set to kick-start their Grand Slam campaigns on Day 1 of the prestigious grass court tournament.
The 127th edition of the Wimbledon Championships is expected to be very competitive with all top-10 players from the ATP and WTA tours participating in the event.
7-time Wimbledon Open Champion Roger Federer will start his title defense against Romania's Victor Hanescu at Center Court, while world's no.3 and also former Wimbledon Open winner Maria Sharapova is set to take on Kristina Mladenovic on the same court later in the day.
Andy Murray, who looks to end Britain's decades-long drought in Wimbledon, will play Benjamin Becker of Germany to cap the three-game schedule on center court.
Meanwhile, the action is also anticipated to get even hotter in Court no.1 when former world's no.1 and two-time Grand Slam winner Victoria Azarenka takes on Maria João Koehler. Rafael Nadal, who was stunned by Lukas Rosol a year ago, is out to make another run in Wimbly as he opens his campaign against Steve Darcis.
Also making their appearance on the first day of competition are Ana Ivanovic (vs. Virginie Razzano), Marin Cilic (vs. Marcos Baghdatis), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (vs. David Goffin), and former champ Petra Kvitová (vs. United States' Coco Vandeweghe).
