At last, Telltale has opened up about their latest project: a special DLC episode of the acclaimed "The Walking Dead" adventure game. The new episode, titled "400 Days," seeks to bridge the gap between the first season and season seasons of the game, and will feature five brand-new characters. Much mystery surrounds the storyline, although this chapter may just give players a context for the ambiguous ending of "Season One."

When asked if characters from "The Walking Dead" TV show could appear in "400 Days," Telltale CEO Dan Connors told Polygon that they are looking into a crossover, saying "anything is possible." While this is far from confirmation that fan-favorite Daryl, for example, will debut in the DLC, one can dream.

Although it has not yet been confirmed, "400 Days" may import each player's saved files from the first season of "The Walking Dead Game" and litter clues around the environment which reflect each person's personal story from Lee and Clementine's adventure. Notably, "The Walking Dead Season One" is required in order to play "400 Days."

As for the five characters featured in the episode, each will have their own story, and players can choose to play through each character in any order they desire. The tie that binds all five characters together is a diner on a Georgia highway. This diner will repeatedly show up between all the characters, but any other significance to the plot is unknown.

It will be interesting to see is if any of the playable characters from "400 Days" can be killed, and if that changes the way the sequel will be handled. Perhaps the survivors of "400 Days" will become the cast of Season Two? GameInformer reports that will launch in July for $4.99 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac, with a Vita bundle carrying "Season One" coming in August.
