The 2013 Worldwide Developers Conference not only saw confirmation of the next operating systems by Apple but the launch of the next MacBook Air.
Apple announced on Monday an updated MacBook Air, touting the laptop with all day battery life, fourth-generation processors by Intel Core, 802.11ac wireless connectivity, and up to 45 percent faster flash storage.

"MacBook Air is the industry leader for thin and light notebooks, and now with longer battery life, we've set the bar even higher," said Apple's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller. "With faster flash, more powerful graphics and up to 12 hours of battery life, the new MacBook Air packs even more performance into the portable and durable design our customers love."
With the new MacBook Air, the OS X Mountain-equipped MacBook sports the power-efficient Intel Core i5 and Core i7 which will reportedly be enough to give, for example, the 13-inch model up to 12 hours of battery life but 10 hours of movie playback from iTunes. The 11-inch model will provide users up to nine hours of battery life while the iTunes movie playback dips to eight hours compared to its bigger sibling.
According to Apple, the Intel HD Graphics 5000 gives the two MacBook Air models up to 40 percent faster performance for graphics and gaming intensive apps. The MacBook Air will also feature the standard apps such as Messages, Notification Center, system-wide Sharing, AirPlay Mirroring, Dictation, Game Center, and an improved Gatekeeper.
The prices for the MacBook air vary on its flash storage size. The 11-inch model is priced at $999 for the 128GB flash storage variant but $1,199 for the 256GB flash storage. The 13-inch MacBook Air is $1,099 for the 128GB flash storage model while the consumer can add another $200 for the 256GB flash storage. The 256GB flash storage models for both 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air are configurable, however, to 512GB flash storage.
