Apple recently unveiled its brand new iOS 7 mobile operating system, and while the Cupertino giant did not give a specific release date, it looks like iOS 7 will launch this fall.
At the popular Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple revealed that iOS 7 would hit the public sometime this fall. Apple typically releases a new batch of devices before the holiday season, and often times uses them to help debut a new version of iOS. If the rumors hold true, Apple is expected to have a new iPhone and iPad ready for the fall, and more likely than not, their releases will springboard iOS 7. As with all iOS 7 updates, Apple will roll it out over the air with little hassle.
Developers, however, can already head over to Apple's developer page and download iOS 7 beta software and SDK to get started on optimizing app performance in the new mobile operating system.
"iOS 7 is the most significant iOS update since the original iPhone," said Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering. "To create it, we brought together a team with a broad range of expertise from design to engineering. With what we've been able to achieve together, we see iOS 7 as an exciting new beginning."
iOS 7 features a brand new "flatter" look which Apple claims will make your phone feel bigger since it utilizes more of the screen. Apple has even given iOS 7 depth, creating a semi-3-D feel. iOS 7 also hopes to streamline many existing functions, allowing many important settings like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and brightness to be accessed with a simple swipe up from the bottom of the screen. iOS 7 also comes with improved multitasking abilities, meaning users can go from app to app much easier.
