NFL cornerback Adam 'Pacman" Jones was arrested on Monday after allegedly trying to hurt a woman in Cincinnati, multiple sources reported on Tuesday.
Known for his checkered history and controversy off the field, Jones was at it again with his bad boy image as Cincinnati police received a complaint from a woman, who accused the football player of striking her shortly before midnight June 5.
Police listed the woman's injury as minor but the damage was enough to put Jones in jail on a misdemeanor charge. He's scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday afternoon in Cincinnati.
According to the prosecutors, Jones allegedly threw a closed fist on the woman Wednesday night after watching a Cincinnati Reds baseball game. However, Jones' agent Peter Schaffer insisted that his client was just trying to defend himself after the woman allegedly hit him hard with a bottle.
Jones also shared his feeling on his Twitter account, saying he was arrested for self-defense.
"Just got arrested for protecting myself, I will not let this break me or change what I have work so hard for ...," said Jones, who played the first year of his three-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals last season.
Drafted sixth overall by the Tennessee Titans in 2005, Jones has been arrested six times already since turning pro, one of which was the infamous Las Vegas shooting in 2007.
