Apple is losing the mobile operating system market share to rival Google, according latest share figures.
According to Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, the three months ending in April 2013 saw Google's Android operating system top Apple's iOS by an easy margin.

The Android platform accounted for 69.4 percent for the three months ending in April, which is 44.3 percent ahead of Apple. The iOS accounted for 25.1 percent of the market share.
No other mobile operating system proved to be a threat against Android or iOS, as Microsoft's mobile platform Windows Phone narrowly defeated Symbian with 2.4 percent, enough for a third place finish. Symbian garnered 2.2 percent.
BlackBerry rounded up the top five with less than 1 percent recorded. The BlackBerry mobile operating system achieved 0.3 percent, based on Kantar Worldpanel's figures.
Unlike the previous market share reports Latinos Post observed by Kantar Worldpanel this week, the statistics for the three months ending in 2012 were unavailable for comparison.
The smartphone operating system market share in China is a stark contrast to U.S. statistics. Even though the Android mobile platform still leads in the U.S. market share, iOS garnered 41.4 percent while Android finished 10.3 percent ahead with 51.7 percent.
