Since before we knew its real name, the HTC One has always had a mini companion, at least in the rumor mill. Going back to February, when the HTC One was still being called the "M7," there were rumors of a smaller variant called the M4, whose release seemed imminent. Well, don't bet the farm on it yet, but photos purporting to be the HTC One Mini, or M4, have leaked along with possible specs, lending more credibility to the actual existence of this long-rumored handset.

The photos were leaked on Estonian forte.delfe.ee, according to Engadget, and the leak seems to fit all of the other rumors about the M4 or HTC One Mini. According to Forte, their 13 images are of the HTC One Mini, with a 4.3 inch screen, laying next to the 4.7 inch HTC One. The handset in the photos does seem similar to some of the renderings and images that were making the rounds as early as February — with the type of matte black backside that looks kind of like an HTC One X, minus the protruding camera lens — back when they were misattributed to the HTC One.

Specs that Forte indicated for the HTC One Mini are similar to those that have been on the web before. The 4.3-inch device is rumored to have a 720p display. Forte also claims the "mini" device will have a dual core processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage. The HTC One Mini is also rumored to come with the same 4-megapixel primary camera featured on the HTC One, with HTC's "Ultrapixel" sensor, which the Taiwanese company claims can out-shoot 13 megapixel rivals.

The site claims that the HTC One Mini will be released in August at the U.S. dollar equivalent of about $520, which sounds great—but like all rumors, you should take that with a healthy amount of salt.

We'll keep you updated on more developments on the HTC One Mini and all other things tech, so keep checking with us.
