For months, Dragon Age 3: Inquisition flew under the radar as Bioware silently worked on the game, but now the Xbox One version of the anticipated sequel has popped up on Amazon Italy's site with a placeholder date of January 1, 2020, reports IGN.
DICE's Frostbite 3 engine will power Dragon Age 3 as well as Mass Effect 4, Bioware confirmed in March. The developer's General Manager Aaron Flynn told Game Informer that "There was a pre-production period where almost on a weekly basis I'd be sitting in the environment reviews and being blown away by what was coming out - it looks stunningly beautiful."
He adds, "So I think when we do start releasing screenshots, people won't be disappointed...Can you make fantasy beautiful in a different way? We think we have something special for Dragon Age III: Inquisition."
Inquisition will reportedly mimic The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim's open-ended structure, feature a new protagonist, and launch in 2014. Don't be surprised if Dragon Age 3 makes a big splash at E3 2013.
Check out the story synopsis below.
"The empire of Orlais is riven by civil war; the Chantry is divided; the Templar order has broken away; the Mage circles have rebelled. Some unseen force is manipulating events, bringing about disorder and destruction. Out of this confusion emerges The Inquisition."
