The rumors of a launch date, previously reported on LatinosPost, for the BlackBerry Q10 on T-Mobile turned out to be correct, and this is good news for people who wanted the business-designed next generation smartphone without a contract carrier.
The official available date from T-Mobile announcing that they're carrying the BlackBerry Q10 is June 5, next Wednesday! According to a report from Berryreview, T-Mobile announced that the BlackBerry Q10 "will be available in T-Mobile retail stores, via www.T-Mobile.com and through select dealers and national retail stores for $99.99 down with 24 equal monthly payments of $20 for well-qualified buyers for 0 percent APR O.A.C.1 with the new Simple Choice Plan," the company said in an official statement.
Unlike the HTC One, which was only initially available in a few select T-Mobile sales, the Q10 will be available in "national retail stores" beginning June 5. The HTC One is also going to be getting nationwide attention from the carrier on the same day. Remember that T-Mobile, the "uncarrier," puts the whole cost of the smartphone on you if you leave their carrier earlier than the two years of monthly payments, so keep that in mind when deciding where to get your cellphone service. Coincidentally, the day after, June 6, looks to be when Verizon is releasing the BlackBerry Q10. Sprint is expected to release it in late summer and AT&T has a notification sign-up on their site, but no news of their Q10 release.
The BlackBerry Q10 is BlackBerry's (formerly Research In Motion) next generation version of its long-running full Qwerty keyboard smartphone form-factor, running the company's new BB10 operating system. The Q10 has a 3.1-inch display, which is also a touchscreen, with the full physical keyboard beheath. The display has a resolution of 720x720 at a decent 330 pixels per inch resolution density. It comes with 16GB of storage and 2GB RAM, with an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
The Q10 is the second in BlackBerry's new lineup, along with the Z10, which was BlackBerry's head-first foray into the full slate smartphone form-factor. Both are 4G LTE capable phones.
