HTC's flagship phone, the HTC One, was released with a stunning silver aluminum unibody frame, to which HTC also added a black version. Now, images of the HTC Red are already online in some stores, and a new report has it that the HTC One will come in one more color: Blue.
The first red HTC One may have accidentally leaked. It was on HTC's US website in early May of this year, before quickly being taken down. The red handset later appeared on a UK retailer's website, called Handtec, including pricing details for the 32GB version of the smartphone. HTC has made several of their previous smartphones in red, so this particular hue of rumor seems pretty substantiated.
But now, according to Pocket-Lint, the Taiwanese phone maker is going to also bring out a blue version of the HTC One, releasing it possibly before the end of summer, though there isn't any specific date yet from their anonymous sources. HTC source has done a mock-up of what the red and blue HTC Ones might look like, along with the black One.
It's doubtful that new colors will drum up any more excitement for HTC's flagship handset, though it may make some color conscious shoppers take an extra look at HTC before they decide what to buy.
Despite some negative reviews about the HTC One's software, the smartphone certainly brings the goods in the specs department. It comes with a 4.7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1080x1920, packing an industry-leading 468 pixels per inch. It is available in two versions, with either a 32GB or a 64GB storage capacity, and features 2GB RAM. Its main camera is a 4-megapixel "Ultrapixel" camera, which HTC claims can compete with other smartphones' 13MP cameras. As we previously reported, the HTC One is likely coming to Verizon very soon, and T-Mobile is expected to roll out the device nationwide within days, as well.
