Apple CEO Tim Cook has commented on the next mobile operating system ahead of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
During AllThingsD's D11 conference, Cook credited Apple's Senior Vice President of Industrial Design Jonathon Ive as "key" of the next iOS 7, which will be unveiled at the WWDC in June.
AllThingsD's Walt Mossberg asked Cook the question about Ive's participation in the next mobile platform.

"Yes, Jony is really key," replied Cook, who then commented on the management overhaul of the iOS last fall.
"What we did last fall was change things up, to really ramp up our innovation," added Cook. "The key in the post-PC era for having a great product is incredible hardware, incredible software, and incredible services, and to combine them so you can't tell what's what. The magic is at the intersection."
The next question was regarding the departure of previous iOS chief Scott Forstall, but Cook instead replied with the progress of iOS 7.
"We recognized that Jony had contributed significantly to the look and feel of Apple for many, many years and could do that for software as well, and I think it's absolutely incredible," Cook said.
According to the Apple CEO, he stated the changes to the mobile and desktop operating system is "an incredible change" compared to seven months ago.
As Latinos Post has been monitoring, Ive is leading the iOS team for what may be a "flat" design for the mobile platform. The term "flat" has been used to refer to "simple" or "basic," and could see Apple drop heavy textures and gradients from items such as its icons.
Latinos Post will cover the events of the sold-out 2013 WWDC starting June 10 to 14.
